Frequently asked questions
Who can attend a Family Adventure?
Our Family Adventures are designed for family participation so there needs to be a minimum of one adult and one child on each booking. We are now opening up the family adventures to children of all ages below 17 years old. Children under 6 will now be able to attend but customers will have to pay a £20.00 supplement to cover accommodation cost, children under 6 will not be able to take part in some of the activities due to equipment suitability. The adult must have parental responsibility for the children and is responsible for supervising behaviour at all times even when under instruction by our Activity Leaders.
Are there any age limits on activities and do I need to be physically fit?
The maximum age limit to qualify for child prices is 17 years old. Children under 6 not be able to take part in some of the activities due to equipment suitability, but all children between 6 and 17 years of age can take part in every activity. There is no upper age limit for participation nor a particular fitness requirement but people need to feel comfortable taking part in the activities described in the itineraries.
What if I don’t want to do an activity?
We encourage everyone to try each activity but if you really don’t want to then that’s also fine but you will need to stay with your activity line whilst everyone else is doing it…and you never know, you might be inspired and change your mind!
Will I be doing activities just with my family or with other people?
Each family will join an activity line (typically of 12 – 15 people) who will do the same activities together and each activity line will have its own programme which will be advised on arrival at the centre. When placing people into activity lines, we will try to group families with children of similar ages together and to accommodate any requests for friends to be together where this is possible. If you would like to be in the same activity line as friends, then please let us know PRIOR to arrival otherwise we might not be able to accommodate your request.
Will a member of Kingswood staff be available during our stay?
On your arrival you will be greeted by your Family Adventure Hosts who will be available to your family for the duration of your stay and will ensure that all aspects of your holiday run smoothly. They will also be available each evening for all information relating to the next day, meal times, meeting points etc.
What meals are provided?

Breakfast - Includes a choice of full English, cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit and toast.
Lunch - Choice of hot meal or a simple baguette, or salad if required (Lunch is included in day trips).
Dinner - Main course and dessert. The main course will typically have two hot options (vegetarian option included) and a salad bar.
Drinks are available at all meal times and will include squash, water, tea and coffee. On two night minibreaks
during term time (6pm arrivals), a casual buffet dinner will be available on arrival in order to cater for later arrivals.
A barbecue meal will be available on one night of your stay.
One night breaks include dinner on day one and breakfast on day two. An optional lunch is available on your second day before you depart at an additional cost. We are unable to provide lunch before you start your activities on day one.
Two night mini-breaks include 5 meals: dinner on your first evening, breakfast lunch and dinner on day two and breakfast on your last day (Lunch is available on your last day at an additional cost).
Do we need to bring bedding and towels?
Bedding is provided for all our accommodation but you will need to bring your own towels and toiletries including shower gel.
Is Wifi available?
Depending on the centre location, wifi may be limited to certain areas (usually the main building) which you will be advised of on arrival. Please note that due to the rural locations of some of our centres, phone signal can be intermittent.
